Catechists, substitutes, and aides in our parish religious education program got together last Saturday afternoon to share how the year went and make suggestions for the future. Lynn Volk, Parish Pastoral Council chairperson, facilitated discussion that yielded numerous ideas regarding scheduling, supplies, connecting with families, and more that will be considered by the DRE and Religious Education Advisory Committee. Participants commented favorably on options for faith formation made available by the parish in the past year. Mary Ann Paulukonis, Ministry Coordinating Commission facilitator, noted that the commission will invite two teachers to work with them and the Religious Education Advisory Committee to recommend faith formation and continuing education options for the coming year.

The parish presented each educator with a gift statuette. Treats for the afternoon included home-baked blueberry pie, Chocolate Mint cupcakes, and Lemoncello cupcakes. Diocesan catechist awards were announced at the end of the afternoon and presented at the 5:00 pm Mass.
