On Saturday, October 8, people from all over the diocese will gather on the campus of the University of Scranton for a
Revolution of Tenderness, a congress centered around the theme of mercy. Acclaimed author James Martin, SJ, will give the keynote address, "Encountering Jesus," followed by many workshop choices throughout the day. Some presenters are favorites brought back from the last congress, others are new. To close the day, Bishop Bambera will preside at a 4 pm Mass. For complete information about the Diocesan Congress, including workshop descriptions and electronic registration, visit its
website.
Our parish will cover half the $40 registration fee for all religious education teachers; liturgical ministers; Council, commission, and committee members; and other volunteers. Registration includes all workshop materials, parking on campus, and lunch. Please complete the
registration via the Congress website and request reimbursement from the parish office when you return from the Congress.
Those who are registered by midnight on Friday, September 16, will be entered into a drawing for one of four prizes: lunch for our parish delegation with any guest speaker but Rev James Martin, or overnight Friday accommodations at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, or Friday or Saturday night dinner at Carl von Luger's restaurant in downtown Scranton, or a gift package of Dan Schutte music (CD or downloadable format).
