Pentecost is a fine time to celebrate not only the birthday of the Church but also the gift of knowledge experienced by parishioners completing their high school education. At the 5:00 p.m. Mass last Saturday, we honored eight young parishioners who are graduating from Lakeland and Scranton Preparatory high schools this spring. One of the graduates was an altar server for the Mass and six carried the gifts forward. One graduate was unable to be with us because she was attending Scranton Prep's Baccalaureate Mass. Fr Kirwin listed some of each graduate's accomplishments and intentions for the next year and presented each graduate with a gift from the parish.
