St John Vianney Parish will join other parishes in pilgrimage to the Cathedral of St Peter in Scranton on Saturday, Sept. 24. The pilgrimage celebrates the Jubilee of Mercy. When a person passes through the Holy Door and fulfills the usual conditions (prayer for Pope Francis' intentions, recent confession, detachment from sin, and Holy Communion), an indulgence is granted. The experience at the cathedral begins at 9 am with Morning Prayer, continues with an opportunit y for confession, the rosary, Mass, and a tour of the cathedral, followed by lunch. The pilgrimage concludes at 2 pm.  Cost is $10 for lunch, which can be paid upon arrival at the cathedral.
