How often do you eat together as a family? When you pledged, in our parish Partnership Agreement, to deepen your relationship with Christ’s body, the Church, that means your family, not just your parish. Family is the first place Christ gathers us as his body. Your family is a little church! and sharing a meal and conversation is an important home ritual.
We have so many things we must do every day--send the children to school, go to work, do the laundry, buy groceries, pick up kids from activities, clean the bathroom--the list is unending. Sometimes we lose sight of the fact that being family--being a household church--is central. Being together as family is critical to growing in the intimacy God desires for us.
Don't wait for Christmas Eve for presents. Give one another the gift of presence during Advent. Make time to eat together at least once a day.
