Eighteen partners in service exemplified Jesus' ministry to the sick or infirm and carried parish spirit to some of our home-bound parishioners on December 10. After a brief run-through of the carols, Brenda and Tom Budzinski and Gloria and Mike Konzman led the group out with good cheer. Despite the cold night, carolers' spirits rose as they drove from house to house and experienced one warm welcome after another. Upon returning to the Parish Center, the Refreshements and Hospitality, led by Mya Thomas, had set out a delicious array of home-baked treats, along with cocoa and hot coffee.
It felt good to connect with parishioners whom we no longer see in church very often because disabilities keep them home, especially during the winter. As with most forms of Christian service, the ones serving received at least as much as they gave. Consider serving and lifting spirits of your own neighbors and family friends by singing carols at their door during Advent or the Christmas season.
Photos of our evening caroling party are posted in an
